Snow Daze Continued

Saturday - Day 2

We decided to go for a walk in the afternoon to see how far we could get. Robert insisted on bringing the shovel to clean off his car. Don't ask me why because we certainly weren't going anywhere soon.

While he worked, I made a snowman.

We headed down Kalmia.

We didn't get very far. The car-cleaning-off wore Robert out.

Sunday - Day 3
We have a skylight in the stairway and it's covered with snow. It's usually bright in the stairway but now it's dark. I feel that when the skylight opens up, we'll be able to get outta here.

In the afternooon we decided to go for a walk again. The plan was to walk to the roundabout/gazebo (1/2 mile) to meet up with our neighbor, Barbara.

In some areas the snow wasn't as deep as it is at our house because it's more open windblown.
Still, it wasn't an easy walk. I stayed behind Robert and walked in his footprints.

We got to the roundabout at the same time as Barbara.
You can see the tractor tire prints where Robert is standing. Gary (the groundskeeper) tried to drive up Kalmia to plow us out but couldn't make it up the slope. The snow had drifted there and is very deep. Who knows WHEN we'll get out!

Barbara's snazzy boots.

Robert & Barbara taking a break.

My turn.

Gary was able to make one sweep through most of the community. Still not wide enough for a car.

Barbara's house is up the mountain on the right side of the picture. She walked down Creston Dr. on the left. It doesn't look very steep in this picture, but it is. The problem was she had to go back up!

As we headed back up Kalmia for home a huge black cloud was rolling in from the west.
We walked as fast as we could.
