Montford Home Tour

Last Saturday afternoon we went on the Montford Home Tour. Montford is a historic neighborhood in Asheville.

The first house was the biggest on the tour. It is no longer used as a residence and is currently vacant and for sale or lease. It had been used as office space and is kind of chopped up inside and has lovely grasscloth on the walls.

The next house we went to was this Dutch Colonial. It has a guest house in the back and had been used as a bed & breakfast and is currently for sale. The asking price is way below market @ $600,000. It needs a lot of work.

This pebbledash/stucco house was owned by a gay couple who collected EVERYTHING you could imagine. It was a lovely house but you could barely walk through and every square inch of wallspace had something hanging on it. But I liked it.

The last house we visited was a bed & breakfast called the Black Walnut Inn. We stayed here almost 5 years ago for our 10th anniversary. It was probably the nicest house on the tour.
