Last Wednesday afternoon Robert & I went to Chimney Rock Park. It is a rock formation that you can go up to the top of. There are stairs leading up to it - we cheated and took the elevator. The view from up there was beautiful but we were disappointed with the lack of fall color. The lake in the background is Lake Lure. The elevation wasn't as high as we expected, either. At the top it's 2280 feet. The elevation at our (future) home is 2600 feet.
